Doctor's Appointment

When I cancelled my appointment
With Dr. Disappointment,
She told me not to worry,
No reason to be sorry.

Although I’m sick with fever
And seem to really need her,
She’s not holding a grudge,
And who is she to judge.

While she preferred we meet
(Considering the heat),
And misses me, alas –
She will not make a fuss:

Despite my cancellations
’Tis celestial constellations
That had really set her free:
“This isn’t meant to be.”

When I went to Dr. Better,
The first sent me a letter
Calling me a traitor,
Saying I’d betrayed her,
And since I am a liar,
She’ll set my house on fire.
